Welcome to our new website

Hi everyone!

Well. As you can see, I have updated and redesigned our websites.

We now have two separate websites.

HOME site (Public)

This is our public website. It is for everyone to visit for information about Cypris Chat, Second Life, and the world. Here we can meet outside of Cypris to share stories, ask questions, and practice writing about topics for conversation at Cypris. You can start your own groups, connect with friends, write on forums, comment, and much much more. I have added an achievement system with points, games, IM chat, and soon…you will be able to make your own blogs! This website, which requires a separate account, is private. Only SL Cypris members who are approved can become members. This site is for tutors and very active learners to use for writing practice. Tutors and volunteers are encouraged to join this site to give special help to the most active English learners at Cypris. The site is designed for learners to create a vPortfolio; a collection of essays and reports all ready to be exported at any time as a website able to be shown to anyone via a regular web browser. You keep everything you write or upload. This is not possible on the HOME site.

I really hope the combination of 3D virtual worlds, social networking, and vPortfolios will give language learners what they need to continue learning in a fun and rewarding way. Your comments and feedback are all we need to make this even better. Please tell me what you think. I hope it helps.

We still have the e-learning Moodle/SLOODLE website, but that is private for teachers to use.

Second Post

I have come to my second post and need to really start to focus on what it is we will be discussing on this site. I don’t know.

One of the first things I need to do is make the design of the site east to understand. I’m having trouble right now with photos not lining up correctly. Let’s try another one.

Looks like the picture posted fine. Now I need to change the links around the front page.

The first post…here we go!

The first post of a blog is always the worst one. What am I going to say? I’m frantically trying to set this blog up I hardly have the clarity of mind to write anything worth reading. So… Read the rest of this entry →
